• There are two courses in this link:
    1) 1714 - 1900. This looks at the major social and economic changes which occurred in Britain during the period 1714 - 1900. It discusses the causes and effects of the Industrial Revolution, and the developments in communication and transport. The considerable changes in society are also examined, including changes in family life and the role of women, schooling and medicine.

    2) This examines the crucial events and turning points of a tumultuous period. Issues such as welfare, women and the vote, warfare, political developments and Britain's changing economy are included. On-going issues such as conflict in Northern Ireland, technology, medicine and the role of women are also presented in a lively, accessible and enquiring way. Exercises in the text help pupils to gain a clearer understanding of these events and to develop their historical skills.
  • This course is a joint development by a team of teachers from QE High and its partner primary schools. The course explores a range of activities designed to develop pupil skills and impart knowledge on a variety of topic areas.
